Rules and Forms Changes Effective December 1, 2024

Rules

On December 1, 2024, the following Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure will be amended:

  • Bankruptcy Rules 1007, 4004, 5009, 7001, and 9006, and
  • Proposed New Rule 8023.1 will be adopted.
In addition, the Bankruptcy Rules, Parts I through IX, have been restyled.

Forms

The following Bankruptcy forms will be amended:
  • Official Form 410 (Proof of Claim),
  • Director’s Forms 1040 (Adversary Proceeding Cover Sheet),
  • Director’s Form 2000 (Required Lists, Schedules, Statements, and Fees), and
  • Director’s Form 2630 (Bill of Costs).
In addition to the above amendments, Official Form 423 (Certification About a Financial Management Course) will be abrogated. Official Form 423 will no longer be accepted as evidence of completion of a course in Personal Financial Management. Instead, debtors will be required to submit the certificate that they receive from their course provider.
