E-Filing Requirements

Local Rule 5005-1 requires that all documents filed by attorneys and trustees in the Eastern District of California Bankruptcy Court be electronically filed, unless a waiver has been granted. See the Application for Waiver.

Eligibility for an e-Filing Account

Per Local Rule 5005.5-1, attorneys must meet one of the following requirements to receive an e-Filing account:

E-Filing Training

The Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California has a unique e-Filing system called CAEB e-Filing. Watch a Training Video.

E-Filing Registration

To register for an e-Filing account in our district, log in to PACER and select Manage My Account. Select the Maintenance tab and click on the Attorney Admissions/E-File Registration link. Search for California Eastern Bankruptcy Court in the drop-down menu and complete all fields marked with a red asterisk.

If your application is approved, you will receive an email from PACER and a separate email from the court. The email from the court will contain your credentials for the CAEB e-Filing system.
