Assistance for Pro Se Debtors

The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, offers a Bankruptcy Pro Se clinic to assist debtors with the consumer bankruptcy process. The clinic provides support both in person and remotely via Zoom at the scheduled dates and times listed below. 

In-person sessions are held at the Justice Kennedy Learning Center, Robert T. Matsui Courthouse, 501 I Street, 1st Floor, Sacramento, California from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the following dates:

  • March 10, 2026  
  • April 14, 2026
  • May 12, 2026
  • September 8, 2026
  • October 13, 2026
  • November 10, 2026
  • December 8, 2026

Remote Zoom Clinics appointments will be available on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Spring Semester from January 19, 2026, to May 8, 2026, and in the Fall Semester from August 24, 2026, to December 3, 2026.  The appointments can be set after the initial intake form is submitted to the clinic. Zoom information is included below.

The Bankruptcy Pro Se clinic provides limited assistance to Pro Se debtors with general Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 questions, documentation collection, credit reports, credit counseling, income and expense calculations in the Means Test, exemptions, petition preparation, vehicle reaffirmation questions, post- petition debtor education, and  wage garnishment questions.
