Meeting of Creditors Before a Trustee

Meeting of Creditors, also known as a 341(a) meeting, are conducted by the trustee assigned to your case. Attendance is mandatory for debtors but optional for creditors.

A Notice of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Case will be mailed to you and the creditors on the mailing list you prepared. This document will list important information such as the trustee assigned to your case, deadlines and the date, time, and location of a hearing called a “Meeting of Creditors.” At the hearing, the trustee appointed in your case will question you about your assets and documents you filed.
