Judge Fredrick E. Clement


       Before taking the bench, the Honorable Fredrick E. Clement was in private practice for 24 years. For the decade prior to his appointment he represented consumers and small to mid-sized businesses. His representation included debtors and creditors in Chapters 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases. He holds the designation of Certified Specialist, Bankruptcy Law, from The State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. Judge Clement is a former Commissioner to the Bankruptcy Law Advisory Commission of the State Bar of California. A lecturer on insolvency and bankruptcy, he has addressed the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute, the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum, and the Central California Bankruptcy Association. Judge Clement received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of Law and his B.A., cum laude, from Westmont College.
