Bankruptcy Administration Improvement Act of 2020

The Bankruptcy Administration Improvement Act of 2020, which was signed into law on January 12, 2021, establishes a new payment for trustees in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases. This payment will be made available to trustees who fulfilled certain requirements in cases that were filed on or after January 12, 2021. It includes cases that are currently closed as well as cases that have been converted from another chapter or converted from another chapter to chapter 7.

Our office will not issue individual payments for each 330(e) claim submitted. Rather, we will issue a lump-sum payment to each trustee soon after the Section 330(e) claim date has expired. For more information on this claim date, please refer to the interim regulations.
